WhenRuPaul's Drag Race aired in 2009, no one could have predicted the monumental success the show would end up having, or the effect it would have on pop culture for decades to come. After 14 regular seasons, sevenAll the starsseasons and dozens of international spin-offs, the reality show literally took the world by storm.
ORuPaul's Drag Race All StarsWe know that today is very different from theAll the starswe saw in the first season. Back then, queens were paired up in groups of two. The rule was quickly removed after the public raged at the unfairness of seeing outstanding queens go home due to the shortcomings of their teammates.
Some seasons were legendary (we're looking at season two), others were, in RuPaul's words, "meh." But they all entertained us and provided some of the most legendary content the franchise has ever seen.
And speaking of legends, the seventh season ofRuPaul's Drag Race All Starsit was the first season to feature an entire cast made up entirely of previous winners. “All Stars All Winners” was the title Ru used in the workshop. The season aired on Paramount Plus on July 22, and garnered the most publicity of any season ofdrag raceyou already saw When queens weren't promoting the show withweekly Entertainment,They were inKelly Clarkson ShowoOn sight.
Since then, new fans have added their names to the growing list of people who just can't get enough of the show. Fortunately for them, there are enough stations to keep them busy for a long, long time.verya long time.
And on that note, here are all the queens that wonRuPaul's Drag Race All Starsand were inducted into the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
Season One - Chad Michaels
No one really knew what to expect from the show whenAll the starsaired in 2012. The franchise was only in its fifth regular season and was still testing the waters of its popularity. Those who saw Chad Michaels in season four were understandably happy to see her inAll the starsjust a year later.
Chad has always been known as a Cher impersonator, but her advantage over other impersonators (looking at you, Derrick Barry) is that she'salsoexclusively herself, which is not an easy thing to do when you're literally pretending to be someone else.
Chad came face to face with Raven in the final lip sync and ended up going home with the crown and title right out of the box.RuPaul's Drag Race All Starswinner.
Season Two - Alaska Thunderfuck
all stars 2was a turning point forRuPaul's Drag Race. She highlighted how much talent was coming in and out of the shop in the five, six and seven regular seasons. To this day he is still considered by many to be one of the most talented. All the starsseasons to date, consisting of iconic queens like Alyssa Edwards, Detox, Roxxxy Andrews, Adore Delano, Katya, Tatianna, basically the entire cast. And let's not even get into the voice acting and music challenges...
No one was really a favorite going inall stars 2simply because the whole cast wassotalented, but Alaska Thunderfuck wanted more, even if it was to his detriment. However, at the end of the day, he defeated the other queens. Although she has fallen in love with much of thedrag racemap, is still very active in the drag industry and is considered one of the best in the game.
Third Season - Trixie Mattel
Of all the queens that have won, it could be argued that Trixie Mattel has become the most famous, popular and recognizable drag queen in the world.drag racehis story.
Originally starring in Season 7, Trixie's time in her career has been marred by premature departures. Looking back now, she was actually only half full (every pun intended) compared to her time inall stars 3. Although she may not have been the favorite forall stars 3, she deserved the crown (after BenDeLaCreme eliminated himself, that is).
Given her career momentum, it seems almost ridiculous for Trixie.Nobe a winner. She is the owner of the successful cosmetics line Trixie Cosmetics; she has released four solo albums; she is a new york times bestselling authorTrixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Femininity; has more than 1.66 million YouTube subscribers; basically she hasbuilt an empire, asRolling Stoneput it.
Season Four – “Twinners,” Monét X Change and Trinity the Tuck
fourth season ofAll the starsmade history as the first, and hopefully last, season to co-crown two winners. At the end of the day, I was neck-and-neck between season nine's Trinity the Tuck and season 10's Monét X Change, and Ru simply couldn't choose one over the other.
After winning the fourth season ofAll the starsthere were rumors that Monét and Trinity were at odds, but the two were quick to disprove those rumours. Since then, they have been known as the "twins" ofall stars 4, a term Montet and Trinity used extensively when they both returned for the "all winners" season ofall stars 7.
Season Five - Shea Coulee
look to the edgesellasnatched today.
While the fifth season was considered by many to be an overall flop, Shea Couleé was at the top of her game. Part of the reason the season felt "meh" was due to the fact that Shea Couleé was pretty much a shoe to beat right off the bat, which, you know, makes for a boring season. The weekly challenges were lackluster, the voice acting was passable, and whatever drama the producers tried to inject into the show felt like a Jaida Essence Hall “look there” moment to distract us from how disappointing it all was.
Still, one can't be too upset. Did we get Shea Couleé after all, who deserved a redemption from that career-altering lip sync of him with Sasha Velor at the season 9 finale (rose pedals, anyone)?
Shea is adding more titles to her name now that she has become the first drag queen to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can read more about it.here.
Season Six — Kylie Sonique Love
"Oooh, girl, you have a woman."
When Kylie Sonique Love walked into theAll the starswork room, everyone's heads turned. Not just because she looked stunning in an all-red latex outfit, but because it's been 11 years since people last saw her.
Following her time on Season 2 in 2010, Kylie Sonique Love, formerly known on the show as Sonique, returned to All Stars 6 as a new woman. She now identifies as a woman and made history as the first transgender drag queen to winAll the stars.
To date, his lip-syncing against Manila Luzon to Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty" is among the growing list of bestdrag racelip syncs of all time.
Season Seven: Monsoon Jinkx
for the first time indrag raceits history, the seventh season featured a winning cast of queens ofdrag racepast. Jinkx Monsoon, former winner of theRuPaul's Drag Racethe fifth season, he was the overall favorite for the season.
10 years after the fifth season, Jinkx has started to rock just as hard as last time. So much so, that the seventh season was one of the fewAll the starsseasons in which there was a clear favorite from the start, which is saying something considering it was a winning season. His sharp tongue, quick wit and innovative personality gave him that extra punch he needed to not only stand out from the crowd, but also dominate the competition. When the Snatch Game began, almost everyone was convinced that she was going to win the season.
And so he did. Jinks walked away with a total of five wins, the most of any queen that season. If she hadn't been blocked twice, she would have won at least one more challenge. She is the only queen indrag racehis story to win the crown twice.
